Author Guidelines

General

• Manuscripts must be original research articles or review articles in the field of geomatics that have not been published and are not under consideration elsewhere.
• Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian and must be prepared using the official Journal of Geomatics Engineering, Technology, and Science article template.
• Manuscripts must follow the structure: title, author names, affiliations and addresses, abstract, keywords, introduction, method, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgements (optional), and references.
• Manuscripts must be written in accordance with proper language conventions: each paragraph consists of at least three sentences, punctuation is used correctly, and sentences are not excessively long. Authors are advised to have the manuscript proofread (language editing) before submission.

Title, Authors, and Affiliations

• The title is written in Capitalize Each Word format and concisely reflects the main objective or the main findings of the research.
• For manuscripts written in Indonesian, an English version of the title must also be provided (bilingual title).
• Author names are written without academic titles, with affiliation markers. Affiliations include the department/unit, institution, city, postal code, and country. The corresponding author must be identified with an active email address.

Abstract and Keywords

• The abstract stands alone, contains no citations, and is written in one paragraph of 200–250 words in English (for Indonesian manuscripts, the abstract is written in English or in both languages).
• The abstract completely covers: the rationale (background), an explicit objective, the method or approach, the results, and a brief conclusion. The background is presented proportionally and must not dominate the abstract, and the abstract ends with a brief statement of conclusions or research implications.
• Keywords consist of 4–7 consistent and specific phrases aligned with the research focus (avoid overly broad terms), written in English and separated by commas.

Introduction

• Explains the importance of the research field, elaborates on related studies by other researchers as a foundation of information, explains the necessity of the research to fill the existing research gap, and states the research objective at the end of the introduction.
• The introduction must include a solid state of the art — a concise review of the most recent relevant studies — so that the novelty and the research gap of the study are stated explicitly.

Method

• Describes the research stages in a structured manner, including specifications of materials and equipment, sampling techniques, measurement procedures, research design, working procedures, parameters, and data analysis.
• Equations are prepared using the Equation tool (not as images) and are numbered in parentheses on the right side.

Tables and Figures

• Tables and figures are numbered sequentially and are referred to in the text. The table number and title are placed above the table; the figure number and title are placed below the figure.
• The content of tables and figures must be in English. For Indonesian manuscripts, table and figure titles must be bilingual (Indonesian and English).
• Data in tables are arranged logically, and data sources are stated where necessary.

Results and Discussion

• Results are presented briefly, supported by adequate data and illustrations (tables, figures, or qualitative descriptions), and the findings are described and interpreted scientifically with support from relevant literature.
• The discussion must include a dedicated comparative-study sub-section that compares the research findings with relevant previous studies using primary references.
• The discussion must have a clear connection to the important issues raised in the introduction, fill the stated research gap, answer the research objective, and describe the impact of the research at the end of the discussion.

Conclusion

• The conclusion answers the research problems and objectives formulated in the introduction and is not merely a summary of the results.
• The conclusion must contain three elements: (1) the main findings stated briefly, (2) the limitations of the research, and (3) suggestions or recommendations for future research.

References

• A minimum of 15 references, consisting of at least 80% primary references (journals, proceedings) and a maximum of 20% secondary references (textbooks), published within the last 10 years.
• Excessive self-citation must be avoided. All citations in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.
• Citations and the reference list must be prepared using a reference manager application (Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote) and follow APA Style, sorted alphabetically by the first author's last name.
